Shimano Drive Unit E-5000 incl covers, cranks and chainring

We have a number of E-5000 Shimano drive units, complete with motor covers, cranks and chain ring offered at lower than normal prices. We have these because we upgraded some new e-bikes to the Shimano 6100 drive unit before selling the bikes, which left us with the 5000 series drive unit as spare.

The Shimano 5000 drive unit is a very low power unit offering 40Nm of hill climbing torque. This drive unit was found on a small number of entry level e-bikes from the Merida and Sinch range pre-2023 such as the Sinch Jaunt 1 and the Merida Espresso 300. It was more recently found on the Cilo UrbanFlea 003. 

This is a Gen 1 drive unit using the same motor bolt mounts as the Shimano 6100 drive unit, which gives 60Nm of torque. Therefore, if your bike came with a Shimano 5000 drive unit, you can upgrade to a Shimano 6100 drive unit and have more hill climbing power. 

This reduced price Shimano 5000 drive unit therefore could be of interest to you if:

1. Your e-bike has a Shimano 6100 drive unit that has failed and you don't think it's worth the cost of fitting a new Shimano 6100 drive unit and just want to do the bare minimum to make your e-bike rideable again, with lower power
2. Your e-bike has a Shimano 5000 series drive unit that has failed and you were happy enough with the 40Nm of torque and would like to replace it with the same
